Nine Types of Light: new album from TV On The Radio

Considered by much of the specialized critics as one of the best bands that emerged in recent years, TV on the radio prepares to present its fifth album of his career, Nine types of light (photo), and continue to confirm all the assumptions that have been predicted about them.

Nine types of light will be officially released on April 12, under the Interscope label, company with which the band has been editing all their works. It will have 10 songs and you can already listen to its first track, will do, that can be understood as a clear exponent of the sound with which they have become famous.

Born in early 2001 on the streets of Brooklyn, TV on the radio He quickly stood out on the New York alternative scene thanks to his ability to go from free jazz to soul, from soul to rock, and flirt with electronic music at every turn. Undoubtedly, the versatility displayed by the group would not be possible without the pair that make up its singer Tunde Adebimpe and multi-instrumentalist and producer David Andrew Sitek (regular contributor to other New Yorkers: Los Yeah Yeah Yeahs). The equipment is completed with Kyp Malone pivoting between bass and guitar, as required; the also off-road Gerard smith (piano, bass, guitar, keyboards); and Jaleel bunton, who is also capable of playing various instruments. In addition to this stable roster, all his albums usually have special guests, ranging from singers to string or wind players.

Those who have had the opportunity to see them, assert that their shows do not go unnoticed either. Both Adebimpe and Sitek have been strongly influenced in their artistic training by the audiovisual world, and in their performances they try to overturn this dimension, exhibiting images linked to the plastic arts or animated films.

At the beginning of July they will be sharing the stage with Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and The Mars Volta, in the Bilbao BBK Live 2011.
