In recent days, during his time at Coachella, the drummer Dominic howard revealed in an interview for the British press: “We will start working on new unreleased material soon. Coachella will represent our new stage: here we will offer our last two live concerts. Now we will begin the study work. It would be great post something before the end of the year to be able to promote the new album during the first months of 2015. Everything will depend on the work in the studio that we will start in May, but we really want to write again and create new songs ".

Regarding this new stage, Matt Bellamy, leader of the group, announced to the press last December that they were thinking for the new album a return to the roots, for which they plan “Shed some experimental elements included in the last two albums, as electronic, orchestral and symphonic arrangements returning to a more raw and hard sound, as in its origins ".
