A Moon Shaped Pool: Radiohead's newest coming to Spotify

A Moon Shaped Pool Radiohead Spotify

Exactly one month ago (May 8) Radiohead released their new album: 'A Moon Shaped Pool'. Since then, the British group's ninth studio album did not have the possibility of being listened to through the streaming platform Spotify, a fact that disappointed many of its followers who use this service as their main means of listening to music on a daily basis.

In the past, the singer of the group, Thom Yorke, made public his opinion against the diffusion of his material on Spotify, but in the last hours this fact has changed, since Radiohead has yielded to the pressure of his followers and has decided that his latest album will also be broadcast on Spotify from next week, on June 17, the same day the album will be released in physical format.

Making memory, in 2013 Thom Yorke made strong statements in the media against streaming services, and especially from the Swedish company Spotify which he defined verbatim: "Spotify is the final sigh of a dying man", directly criticizing the system with which the distribution of profits between the company and the artists is carried out. Yorke made it clear at that time that musicians take only crumbs of the profits that Spotify produces from streaming music, taking into account that the basis of the service is the music and secondly the platform.

'Burn the Witch' and 'Daydreaming' have been the first singles from the album 'A Moon Shaped Pool', which have been released through Spotify on May 3. Currently, listening to the entire album by streaming is only possible through the online platforms of Apple Music or Tidal. The global director of communications and public policy at Spotify, Jonathan Prince, informed the media of the news a few days ago: "We at Spotify love Radiohead's music, and we are excited to have their new singles for fans of the group on Spotify to enjoy."
