Molins de Rei 2014: Review of "I Survived a Zombie Holocaust" by Guy Pigden

I Survived a Zombie Holocaust

«I Survived a Zombie Holocaust»Has not been the best film of the Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival, but if the most fun.

Guy Pigden's New Zealand film, together with "Suburban Gothic" have been the two horror comedies that have been screened at the Catalan competition and that have undoubtedly given it a fresh air.

The film takes us into the filming of a movie by B series about zombies, which seems to be rather bad. The coincidence causes real zombies to start attacking the team members so the new intern has to set himself up as an improvised hero.

All things considered, "I Survived a Zombie Holocaust" reminds us of Edgar Wright's hooligan trilogy of the cornetto, especially to "Zombie Party«. It is not as constant and its plot is even more obvious than that of the film starring Simon Pegg, but it has some really funny moments, as well as showing a lot of blood and guts, something that lovers of zombie movies always appreciate.

We are not facing a brilliant film, although it does not pretend to be. Guy pigden I was only looking to get a few laughs out of the viewer and it succeeds in several moments.

Rating: 6 / 10
