Molins de Rei 2014: Review of “Autumn Blood” by Markus Blunder

AutumnBlood

On the first day of the XXXIII edition of the Molins de Rei Horror Festival, We have been able to enjoy a film that is far from the genre, but that undoubtedly speaks of fear like few others, «Autumn Blood».

This first film by Markus Blunder is closer to drama than anything else, but the projection of the film in an edition dedicated to the union of terror and eroticism is a success, or as Fausto Fernández commented in the round table on the subject , terror and sex.

In an almost poetic way, «AutumnBlood»Tells us about uncontrollable passions and above all about the fear of being the prey of that primitive desire.

The film tells the story of a young woman, masterfully played by Sophie Lowe, who lives with his parents and his younger brother, who is given life by a fantastic Maximilian harnisch, on a farm on the outskirts of a small town. When the two brothers are left orphans, the ban is opened for the young people of the town to use the girl at will.

In search of a film with poetic overtones, Markus Blunder It practically leaves its protagonists without dialogue, something that makes it lose credibility at times, but which accentuates some wonderful performances.

Rating: 6 / 10
