It is an unusual genre in our country. Telefilms, -those films made directly to be shown on television-, have not had much roots in Spain, not so in the United States and in the rest of Europe, where they are a true genre.
However, these days the filming of a television movie has begun, which has actors of the stature of Fele Martínez, Ingrid Rubio or Terele Pávez. It is "The Minutes of Silence", a work by Rafael Robles, “Rafatal«, Who is a regular author of short films and video clips, and who is now entering the world of feature films for the first time.
And for its debut, rafatal He has chosen a story that is a true thriller: a journalist who returns to his village to cover an event, and something surprising happens:
«The protagonist becomes a true detective and an outsider in a strange place who interferes in the lives of the characters to clarify the matter. It is a detective genre story with tinges of a 'thriller', and at the same time it is a tribute to the cinema black and the television series "The trace of crime, which fortunately my parents let me see and marked me for life."
Filming began this Monday in Malaga and has a budget of almost one million euros. A budget that to be a telefilm it is not considered small. And it is that, really the film is more typical of the big screen than of the small one. This is the only way to explain the presence of established actors, such as Fele Martínez, who is delighted with his character:
"He is a journalist who suddenly has the opportunity to cover the chronicle of quite explosive news, an effort in which he will leave his skin, although the simple coverage of a news will end up turning into a nightmare."
The movie is produced by and for Canal Sur Television, and could be exhibited in the Malaga Festival.
