Passing through Madrid, Mika commented that «the time to make this second album was pressing me ». He also explained that he understood the launch as a moment in which he would overcome a stage in his career. In the artist's words this new beginning will give you «more creative freedom to do what you want ».
As for the album, Mika maintains that it is "A refreshed base to work on in the future", while defining it as "A balance between something dark and something that gives you hope."
