Meat Loaf collapses in full swing in Canada

Meat Loaf

Last Thursday (16) Meat Loaf was admitted to a hospital after fainting while performing during a concert offered in the Canadian city of Edmonton. The popular 68-year-old musician collapsed in the middle of the stage while performing one of the biggest hits of his career, 'I'd do anything for love,' at Edmonton's Northern Jubilee Auditorium.

Michael Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, performed on Thursday night after having canceled a couple of concerts days before for health reasons. On the musician's Facebook account, his representative Jeremy Westby informed his followers.

Meat Loaf collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert in Edmonton. He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo some routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal. In addition, other tests are being carried out but he is responding well. He extends his sincere thanks for everyone's support and best wishes, and is looking forward to a speedy and full recovery. Any postponement of the concerts will be announced later. Thank you for your support and understanding.

The well-known artist already suffered similar health episodes in 2003 during a performance in London, and again during a concert in July 2011 in the city of Pittsburgh.. At the time of the episode, many viewers did not understand if the fall of Meat Loaf was part of the show, but when they noticed that the entire team ran to help him in the center of the stage, they reacted to the fainting of the musician. Later, all attendees had to be evicted from the auditorium.

Among Meat Loaf's most memorable songs are big hits such as 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' and 'I'd do anything for love (But I won't do that)'.
