Max Payne, an excellent video game that did not deserve this adaptation to celluloid

I just finished watching Max Payne and I must admit that, in between, I fell asleep.

The film adaptation of the famous video game, which takes as a reference the story of a policeman looking for the murderers of his wife and son and some slow-motion scenes, leaves much to be desired.

First of all, the script, typical of American action movies, where you know who the "bad guy" is as soon as you see him on the screen.

Also, the mess they make with drugs I don't remember from the video game and it's the worst of the worst. That story of drugs with hallucinations with birds and so on is bullshit.

Regarding the performances, no one in the film stands out, not even Mark Wahlberg himself.

Anyway, a series B film adaptation of a series A video game that did not deserve this transformation to celluloid.

No wonder the film failed at the box office in both the US and Spain.
