In an interview with MTV News, screenwriter Matt Fraction, who is currently in charge of the comic The Uncanny X-Men, passed his judgment on the mutant saga.
Fraction advised filmmakers working on film adaptations not to try to make up too many stories because it would make a mistake: "Don't pretend to use any previously untouched subject of mutants and then treat it all together in one movie."
«I think the biggest mistake was made in the third movie (X-Men: The Last Stand). The filmmakers had the right budget and action, but it was six different stories at once. They are all infinitely interesting characters; they are the clear definition of comics independent-characters. Each of them tells their own story » manifested Fraction.
Questioned about Hollywood's growing interest in comic book transpositions to the big screen, Fraction it was clear: «It's like buying a lottery ticket ... There are many people who like their work and work a lot on the subject, but hey, you know what Hollywood productions are like, how many do they make, seventy movies a year? I think we still have to see what we will do », referencing his own comics that Hollywood already looks askance.
Future X-Men movies already confirmed are: X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class and X-Men Origins: Magneto.
