Damon doesn't want to keep playing Jason Bourne

Jason Bourne

El american actor Matt Damon, who has been part of the great cast that Clooney and Pitt have led with Ocean's Thirteen at the premiere of the film in Cannes, has declared that he no longer wants to get into the shoes of Agent Bourne, protagonist of one of the most profitable action sagas and why not say it, better built in recent times. The reasons are still unknown, it is not known if Damon is a little fed up with going from roof to roof delivering jiu jitsu punches, or if his financial claims are above what the producers are willing to shell out.

That means that the next film that is entitled The Bourne Ultimatum, and that I have long commented that you have been shot in part in Madrid, will be the last one starring Matt Damon, unless there is a sudden change of opinion (via increase of zeros on the check go)

This saga began in 2002 with The Bourne Affair, which we must remember was a remake of an old movie where Richard Chamberlain played Bourne. The fact is that this new version directed by Doug Liman surprised by the great success obtained. This led to the second part being made in 2004, called The Bourne Myth, where the line of action, chases and high technology made the character a kind of new James Bond but more brutal (well, that was before Daniel Craig got into 007's tuxedo), colder, more rational, almost a machine go. Finally, the aforementioned The Bourne Ultimatum, which will be released next August, will be the one that puts an end to Matt Damon's participation as Bourne.

Jason Bourne's character is based on the best-known work of novelist Robert Ludlum. At the moment it is unknown if the producer plans to try to convince Damon to continue giving life to the icy Bourne, or if on the contrary they are already thinking about the most suitable replacement to interpret the role. If the change comes out as well as Brosnam's for Craig in the Bond saga, they can come up with a song in their teeth.
