Lisa Azuelos directs the North American remake of the 2008 French film 'LOL (Laughing out loud)'. Also titled 'LOL', the dramatic comedy, it features a cast headed by: Miley Cyrus (Lola), Demi Moore (Anne), Ashley Greene (Ashley), Thomas Jane (Allen), Jay Hernandez (James), Austin Nichols (Mr. Ross), Gina Gershon (Kathy), Douglas Booth (Kyle), George Finn (Chad), Lina Esco (Janice), Adam G. Sevani (Wen).
The script, which has been written by Lisa Azuelos and Kamir Aïnouz herself, tells us about Lola, a teenager who is abandoned by her boyfriend, who has more sexual experience than her, hence now she begins to look at her best friend. Meanwhile, her mother has divorced and has to move on with her life.
Ideal for a popcorn Sunday afternoon, the movie features some fun moments, without forgetting at any time that it is clearly intended for young audiences. LOL tries to show us the reality of today's youth, addicted to technology, without great surprises or script twists. A soft, white and easily digestible product for teenagers.
To do justice to the original version, the French LOL of the year 2008, say that this is not up to that. The best of the movie, without a doubt, Demi Moore, more than by their own merits, by the absence of merit of the rest.
