It was at the end of April that we told you about Till Lindemann's new plans, Rammstein leader; a new project with musician Peter Tägtgren, vocalist and guitarist for the swedish death metal band Hypocrisy. Tägtgren spoke to Metal Hammer about this new project: “It all started in 1999 or 2000, after we met. Till was going to help me with some vocals on one of my records, but in the end it never happened because we were always busy. But we kept in touch, and two years ago, Rammstein came to Sweden and Till and I talked, and he told me that his band was going to take a two-year break, and that we should do something. I was thinking of making another Pain album, but he came with his ideas, we shared them, he modified mine, I modified his, and suddenly that was no longer a Pain album ».
Many Rammstein fans dreaded this new twist, especially when switching from German to English. This is how Lindemann himself told it: «It is a cross between Rammstein and Pain. Or at the very least, a mix of Rammstein's voice and Pain's music. Peter is a true metalhead, and I have my goth side. I know a lot of radical Rammstein fans aren't going to like it, because I don't sing in German, and the rough side. But this is a parallel project, and there have to be different colors ».
If reading this you still doubt if you will like how this new project called Lindemann will sound, whose first LP, entitled 'Skills In Pills', which was released last week, I can assure you that the work of Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren has yielded an exceptional result, with the only difference being the English lyrics. And, I assure you, Lindemann does not lose an iota of harshness by singing in English. Also the lyrics are once again crazy after another. You just have to read the first verse of 'Praise Abort': «I like to fuck, but no French letter. / Without a condom, the sex is better. / But every time I get it in / A baby cries and sometimes twins ». What was said: pure poetry.
