India will seek a new nomination for Oscar de Best Foreign Language Film with "Liar's Dice."
The film is about the debut of Geehu Mohandas, an Indian actress who, after more than twenty films in front of the cameras, turns to directing and writing.
The film was present in the official World Dramatic section of the past Festival the Sundance and won the awards for best cinematography and best actress in the National Film Awards from India.
«Liar's Dice»Tells the story of Kamala, a woman who undertakes a journey with her daughter from a rural area of India to the big city in search of her husband, who five months earlier left to work and did not return. It is not the first case of a man who goes to the city to work and does not return since Kamala everyone tries to convince her to wait for news of her husband, but she cannot wait any longer and begins the search accompanied by a mysterious man who he will protect her and her daughter.
Up to 46 films have previously represented India at the Oscars, of which only three got the nomination, the last 13 years ago. Ashutosh Gowariker's "Lagaan" was the country's last Oscar nominee in 2002.
