"If it works", trailer for the latest Woody Allen movie

The principal teacher Woody Allen continues with its task of releasing a movie per year. Films that can be heads or tails, that is, good or bad films by a genius of the seventh art. The last of this short older man was a success and gave the Oscar to our Spanish Penélope Cruz as best supporting actress thanks to her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Allen's latest film is titled whatever works, which in Spain will be If the thing works, tells the story of Boris Yellnikof (Larry David), a moody and misogynistic old physics professor who one day meets a beautiful young woman at his house named Melody (Evan Rachel Wood) with whom, in the end, he will create a special bond of friendship. Things will get worse when the girl's mother arrives.

This film has been a fiasco in the USA where it has only raised 4 million dollars but, remember, that Allen's cinema does not have many Yankee followers and where his work is really admired is in old Europe.

If it works, it will be released in Spain on October 2.
