IAMX, the solo project that Chris Corner started in 2004, is on a tour to promote his sixth album, 'Metanoia', a real bomb loaded with all that drama that Corner has his fans used to, adding a whole plunge into electronic music that does nothing but improve what was already perfect. For those who do not know who he is, Chris Corner is the British musician and composer who founded the trip hop band Sneaker Pimps back in 1995.
With IAMX, Chris Corner was able to express that everything he had offered with Sneaker Pimps was just a brief sample of his full potential, embracing a perfect mix of electronic rock, burlesque, industrial and synthpop steeped in that special drama that Corner's voice possesses, singing to death, obsessions, drugs, sex and even politics, making each IAMX album a unique experience.
It was at the end of last February that IAMX released the third single from 'Metanoia', their sixth studio album. After 'No Maker Made Me', the song that opened the album, and 'Oh Cruel Darkness Embrace Me', now it's the turn of 'North Star', a bomb charged with agony that overflows a dance floor, but one of those at 9 in the morning, and that will delight many. Although IAMX always had their electronic influence -among many others-, with 'Metanoia' they have wanted to take it as their own more than ever, offering jewels like 'North Star'.
Chris Corner will continue to tour Europe in the coming months with his band presenting 'Metanoia', although we are not going to be lucky enough to set foot in Spain.
