Grímur Hákonarson's Icelandic film 'Hrútar', 'Rams' in his international title, has been made with the main prize in the Un certain regard section from the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
The film takes over from the Hungarian 'White God' who won this same award last year.
El Jury Prize has gone to the Croatian film 'Zvizdan' Dalibor Matani ?, while that of best direction has gone to the Japanese Kiyoshi Kurosawa for 'Journey to the Shore'.
The rest of the award-winning films were the Romanian 'Comoara' by Corneliu Porumboiu Un certain talent Award and the winners of the Special Award for future promises 'Nahid' second film by Iranian Ida Panahandeh and 'Masaan' by Neeraj Ghaywan, a film from India that has also received the Fipresci Prize awarded by international critics in this category at this edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
