'Honey Night' at the Oscars for Macedonia

Macedonia will seek its second Oscar nomination for best foreign language film with the film 'Honey Night', 'Medena nok' in its original title.

This is the new film by Ivo de Trajkov, who has already represented the country twice before, without getting the candidacy, not even passing the first cut, neither time.

Honey night

Ivo Trajkov represented Macedonia for the first time with the film 'The Great Water' and repeated in this honor in 2009 with 'Wingless', but on neither occasion was he made with the Oscar nomination for the country.

In fact Macedonia has only been eligible for the award once, was the first time that Milcho Manchevski's film was presented in 1994 'Before the Rain' managed to sneak into the quintet of nominees for the 1995 Hollywood Academy Awards.

Set in the newly created Republic of Macedonia in the early 90s and partially shot in black and white, 'Honey Night' tells us of a night in which the celebration of the national holiday of the newly created independent state of the Republic of Macedonia and the wedding anniversary of the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife coincide.
