Guachass, garage rock from Montevideo

wachass

With clear influences from Turbo Black And all that Nordic garage rock move Guachass It is a powerful band from Montevideo that has been active since 2004 and in April of last year they released their first self-titled LP. The band is made up of Camila González Jettar (voice), Mariana Gascue (guitar and backing vocals), Florencia Brandino (bass) and Federico Molinari (drums).

With psychedelic touches, guitars (alright) up front, a girl-to-voice and some horror aesthetic, their sound overwhelms anyone who is encouraged to listen to them. Within two years of starting to play, they recorded the first 4 songs that were used by a Uruguayan movie called Nightlife, being the kick for the take-off of the band.

In 2006 they crossed the pond and landed in Argentina, where they received very good comments, playing as opening act for great Argentine bands like Los Alamos and Satan Dealers. After that visit and the warm welcome with which the Argentine public welcomed her, they established a relationship with the unclassifiable Cream, being hosts, each one, in shows in Uruguay and Argentina.

When Guachass launched the recording of his first LP, did not think of other than in Sergio Chotsourian, guitarist for Los Natas, to make a joint production with the French Franck Moha. The album brought 10 promising songs and was released by the label Oui Oui Records.

EThe self-titled album has an impeccable sound and it shows the great production work of Chotsourian, achieving climates worthy of Black Sabbath, combined with the savagery of Stooges and the most rock punk.. Without a doubt, a group not to lose sight of.
