Marea it's a band of Navarrese rock Spanish, formed in 1998 by Kutxi Romero. From its beginnings until today we find 5 albums in his discography.
kutxi Romero after being involved in various rock and punk bands decides to form Marea.
For that he contacts a couple of musicians friends, on the drums he calls the former drummer of bergia, for the bass decide to call Edu beaumont (El Piñas) who had met a year ago, without experience in groups, the bass player doubts, but Kutxi convinces him of the project. "El Piñas" makes me meet Cesar Ramallo, who later would be the guitarist of Marea. David diaz (Kolibri), guitarist, also joined the group as reinforcement for the other four musicians.
Something curious arose in the early days of the band, the same one at the beginning was called "La Petera", but when it comes to registering the name, they are ready to release their first album titled "Tide" they found that a band with this name already existed. They proposed to the band if they would give it the name, but it did not agree and the group decided to change the name to the title of the album and to the name of the band.
From here on, it will be called Marea and the first album La Petera.
