Goldfrapp returns with a more sober and narrative album: 'Tales of Us'

On September 9, the British duo goldfrapp held the worldwide release of his new album 'Tales Of Us'. This new work represents the sixth studio album of the musical couple formed by Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp, an album according to their record label, has been recorded and produced by both artists in their private studio in the interior of England for the last two years.

After the pop explosion of the eighties that the English duo made with their previous work, 'Head First' (2010), goldfrapp He changes his musical discourse once again, taking up the sound that characterized him in his previous ones, betting again on the musical formula that they made for works such as 'Felt Mountain' and 'Seventh Tree', combining its best orchestral expressiveness in a successful conceptual packaging and to some extent renewing its distinctive electro-acoustic sound.

En 'Tales of Us' Goldrapp leaves behind the synthesizers and drum machines of his previous production and again opens the way to a sound closer to the ambient and experimental, where guitars and strings predominate, shaping one of his most intimate, and at the same time, more cinematographic albums. and narratives that the London duo has produced so far.

'Tales of Us' brings a collection of ten songs that unfolds a narrative of evocative scenes, love affairs, hallucinations and stories from children's stories that project the stupendous poetry of music to levels never unexplored by Goldfrapp in his previous works. The ten themes of 'Tales of Us' make up ten imaginary characters that take the title of each song, and that are part of a filmic puzzle of ten short films made by the filmmaker Lisa gunning.
