Found a Disney movie considered lost

empty-socks

A few days ago, what could be described as a lost treasure of cinema was found, a copy of empty socks, Walt Disney's first Christmas movie, which dates back to 1927 and was believed to be lost and irretrievable.

It has been found in Norway and no one knows how it got there. As stated by the National Library of Norway: "At first we had no evidence that it could be this treasure of celluloid and animation."

The film lasts about five and a half minutes and they have discovered that it has between 30 and 60 seconds left, but that it was still a find of great importance.

In this film we can see Oswald the rabbit, who was the predecessor of Mickey Mouse, who appeared in more than two dozen Disney films. It has been the company itself that has confirmed the veracity of this finding and the Norwegian entity has already sent a digitized copy to the United States.

Thanks to the good work and the experts of the National Library of Norway and its infrastructures, which maintained the temperature and conditions suitable for its conservation, today you can have this 87-year-old treasure.
