Five new films confirmed for the Molins de Rei Festival 2014

Another five films have been announced that will be present at the new edition of the Molins de Rei Festival.

In addition, we already know part of the programming, the tapes that will be screened within 12 hours that take place at dawn from Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 November.

The new additions to the contest are the following:

"Suburban Gothic" by Richard Bates Jr.

The director of the controversy, although also awarded "Excision" that could be seen in the 2012 edition of the Molins de Rei Festival, returns to the Catalan contest this time with a horror comedy. The film tells the story of Raymond, who can see things that others cannot imagine, causing him to have to deal with ghosts and other unpleasant beings from beyond.

"I Survived a Zombie Holocaust" by Guy Pigden

Full of archetypal characters and comic and surreal situations, this film promises to be one of the most hooligan films of recent years. The film tells the story of intern Wesley Pennington, who on the set of a New Zealand zombie movie will have to deal with all kinds of complications, including fighting with the real zombies that stalk the staff.

"The day brought darkness" by Martín de Salvo

The film tells the story of Virginia and her father Emilio, who live in a small town that seems to be haunted by an outbreak of rage. Emilio leaves the place to help his brother-in-law Ostrosky since his eldest daughter, Julia, is on the verge of death. Virginia is left alone in the house and Anabel, Ostrosky's youngest daughter, arrives surprisingly unconscious. She is feverish and weak and seems to have the same symptoms as her sister: she sleeps during the day and is awake at night. Virginia tries to reach her father but the phones don't work. Cold, suspicions, strange dreams and stress make living together rare.

"Autumn Blood" by Markus Blunder

The film tells the story of two young brother and sister who have to endure unfathomable difficulties in their struggle to stay together. Initially, the brothers live an idyllic life with their mother in a rustic cabin in a remote mountainous region. But when their mother dies, they are left to their own devices. Fearing the possibility of being separated, since neither of them is of legal age, they decide to bury their mother without notifying the authorities, thus leaving them at the mercy of nature and their neighbors in the village. When the sister is violently assaulted, the brothers are forced to grow up quickly in order to survive and stay together.

"The Man in the Orange Jacket" by Aik Karapetian

This violent and cold film with its protagonist tells the story of Dan, a tormented man with a volatile mentality who prefers blows to words to express his feelings.
