The tape that was recently present at the Berlinale tells the story of a 93-year-old Sherlock Holmes retired in 1947. He lives on a distant farm in Sussex, where his memories and intellect begin to drift. He lives with a housekeeper and her son, Roger, whose patient and respectful demeanor arouses Holmes' fatherly affection. Holmes's routine life is limited to caring for his hive, writing his journal, and dealing with the diminished capacity of his sharp mind, until Roger stumbles upon a hitherto unknown case.
The winner of an Oscar Ian McKellen, the three-time Hollywood Academy nominee Laura linney and the very young Milo parker star in this latest mystery faced by Mr. Holmes.
