First award-winning films at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival

The first prizes of the 67th edition of the Cannes film festival.

The Fipresci Award of the official section has been for this year's great favorite for the Palme d'Or, «Winter Sleep»From the Turkish Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

This same award in the Un certain regard section went to «Jauja»By Lisandro Alonso, also a great contender for the best film award in said parallel section.

The Fipresci award for the rest of the parallel sections went to the French «The fighters« by Thomas Cailley, a film that has been screened at the Directors' Fortnight.

The Signis Award this year has been for the film Abderrahmane Sissako «Timbuktu«, A co-production between France and Mauritania that has been seen in the official section, while the Spanish film«Beautiful youth»By Jaime Rosales, screened in the Un certain regard section and«The Salt of the Earth»By Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado have received the Special Mention.
