EMOJI arrives. Movie and App, two versions to enjoy

¿What is the inner universe of our Smartphone? The emoticons that we use every day, are they static or do they have an independent cyber life, in your digital world?

In Emoji we discover Textópolis, a dynamic city that comes to life hidden behind text messages. It is inhabited by the emoticons that we use every day.

In Textópolis, each of the emoticons (Emoji) has a unique facial expression, with one exception. Gene is an emoji that was created without any filters, and it can take many different expressions. However, Gene wants to be like the other inhabitants of Textópolis. To do this, he enlists the help of his close friend "High Five" and the notorious codebreaker, "Rebelde."

The adventure begins

This crazy team, formed to search for Gene's origins, will go through all the apps on the phone. All of these applications are in their wild and fun field. It's about finding the code that will repair Gene.

In the middle of the adventure of the three friends, a threat endangers all the applications of the Smartphone, and all emojis in general. The fate of Textópolis and the terminal itself is in the hands of the three adventurers.

It will be in this difficult situation, when the emoticon of the thousand expressions, Gene, will discover the high potential of his ability. Despite what he thought, the having so many expressions can become a powerful weapon to help your entire emoji community.

What is the origin of emojis?

The emoticons that we use in text messages take their name from the combination of two Japanese words: image and letter. The first known emoji was created in Japan, Very Near the End of the 1990s, by Shigetaka Kurita. It was the symbol of the heart among the mobile options. This first experience was so positive that the range of symbols was expanded to 176. Emojis were only available in Japan at first, but the success of emojis spread globally.
