The company promoting the Coachella 2016 pageant, which is being held these days, is working to bring together the great rock icons in October, in a single event.
This unprecedented festival would be celebrated between October 7 and 9 at Empire Polo Field in the Southern California desert.
Not only is it that they have not shared a festival of such magnitude together, but they have not acted together between some of them. For example, two mythical names, like Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, would be the first time they would share a festival together.
The project would be that each of them starred in their own concert, without the abbreviated repertoires that we are used to in the big festivals. The negotiations are on the right track, according to the promoter. And there would even be some dates and names closed by now: Dylan and the Stones would open on October 7, Neil Young and McCartney would play the next day and The Who and Roger Waters would close.
This poster of vertigo could be joined by one more name. The idea of launching another series of similar festivals, which brought together mythical names from different musical styles from the 70s, 80s and 90s, such as punk.
Let us remember that the closest thing to an event of this importance we would have many years ago. In 1985 a series of charity concerts were held, encompassed under the name of "Live Aid", which also brought together the great stars of the musical firmament, as is the case with Dylan, Mick Jagger, The Who or Neil Young.
