The master of cinema Oliver Stone will receive at the 60th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival a Donostia Special Award throughout his career.
This award was already delivered 10 years ago on the 50th anniversary of the contest, on that occasion the honored It was Francis Ford Coppola.
Oliver Stone He will be honored with the Donostia Special Award for an entire career since he is considered one of the best North American filmmakers in recent times.
To his credit he has two Oscars for best director, one in 1986 for the film "Platoon" and another in 1989 for "Born on July 4", although his first statuette was received as a screenwriter for the Alan Parker film "The Midnight Express."
Among the many awards that the author has received in the more than 30 years dedicated to the world of cinema, he also has five Golden Globes, three for best director and two for best screenwriter.
Stone will receive the award in an edition in which he will also attend to present his new work «Wild«, Along with two of the protagonists, John Travolta and Benicio del Toro.
The film will be screened on September 23 at the Victoria Eugenia Theater and will be its premiere in Spain. According to the festival itself, the premiere of the film in the country will be shortly after the 28 of the same month.
