Desert es the first film by Jonás Cuarón, son of the well-known film director Alfonso Cuarón. It is not the first time that the son of the Mexican director has dared to direct this, since he had previously surprised us with a short film. What's more, Alfonso Cuarón dropped at the time that his son had helped him a lot on his previous success, Gravity.
Today I bring the first trailer of the Jonás Cuarón's first film. The movie is called Desert and it tells us through a thriller, a story with social overtones. In it, a group of immigrants tries to cross a desert border with the added difficulty of a people hunter.
The idea of survival mixed with hunting people is not new. But if it keeps us in the seat throughout the entire footage, I think it would give a lot more than any other production out there now. The good thing is that it has two actors that I really like: Gael García Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Jonás Cuarón has taken no more and no less than seven years to get funding for this film.
