Decaf comeback of 007 with 'Skyfall'

Daniel Craig in "Skyfall"

Daniel Craig is 007 in "Skyfall."

'Skyfall'is the last chapter of the Bond saga, directed by Sam Mendes and which once again immerses us in action cinema for more than two hours (143 minutes), with the interpretation of Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Bérénice Marlohe, the 'bad' Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Albert Finney, among others.

The script for this new installment of 007 has been written by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade; based on the characters created by Ian Fleming, and tells us how James Bond's loyalty to M will be put to the test when M's past comes back to haunt her. His life will be in danger, so Agent 007 must locate and eliminate the threat, regardless of the personal price he will have to pay. After the failure of Bond's last and fateful mission and revealing the identity of several secret agents in different parts of the world, MI6 headquarters is attacked, forcing M to relocate his agency.

Due to these events, his authority and position will be threatened by Mallory, the new Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee. Now MI6 faces both external and internal threats so M decides to turn to the only ally he can trust: Bond. Agent 007 disappears into the shadows with only one ally: Field Agent Eve. Together they will track down the mysterious Silva, whose deadly and hidden motivations have yet to be revealed.

Four years after the uncertain 'Quantum of solace', we now find 'Skyfall', which some have described as one of the most brilliant installments of the saga, and on which others have criticized its excess footage.

In our opinion, the film lacks more action, but despite this it entertains and the staging is very careful, although you could have gotten a better product. Some outstanding interpretations such as that of the protagonist, Daniel Craig, Judi Dench or Ben Whishaw, and of course, that of our Javier Bardem, who once again gets into the skin of the very bad baddie, despite running the risk of being pigeonholed in these tasks, and once again he does it very well.
