Two customs officers - a Belgian and a French - learn that their border post, located in the small towns of Courquain, France and Koorkin, Belgium, is about to disappear. Ruben Vandervoorde (Benoît Poelvoorde) is the Belgian customs agent and Francophobia is a family tradition. But now he will be forced to inaugurate the first mixed Franco-Belgian mobile brigade. His French equivalent will be Mathias Ducatel (Dany Boon), Ruben's lifelong enemy who is secretly in love with his sister. To everyone's surprise, Mathias agrees to be Vandevoorde's partner. Together they will comb the rural border roads aboard a special international customs vehicle: a Renault 4L about to kick the bucket.
