The bassist of cut copy, Ben browning, debuts with the EP "Lover Motion", which has been released this week through Cutters, the label run by the band itself. The group's tunes, falling over Los Angeles in the '70s with their shiny vintage synths, are always welcome, but not all of them are coming this time.
Although not as well known as the singer dame withford Nor like his collaborating DJ Tim Goldsworthy, the bassist appears stomping. Thus, he continues his first single "I can't stay", which he released last year, with an EP. A fan of classic and futuristic pop, he enters the Cutters crew head first.
With his first single he had left us with a taste in our mouths in imitation of the band. Laughing, danceable and refreshing rhythms of electronic pop that inevitably recalls "Take me over", but with a higher tone of voice. But Browning came to cover our mouths with others four themes much more personal. It is obvious that he is not totally independent from his parent band, but you have to understand that the members of the Melbourne quartet have worked together for a long time. In addition, Dam Withford himself has assisted in production work.
The gestation period of the album (two years) has been considerable, but the wait is worth it. In addition, it has had the magnificent collaboration of Gus Franklin and Haima Marriott (Architecture In Helsinki). Two remixes of Juan MacLean and Knighlife they are already on the table.
