Criticism of the film "The night of his life", the last night of adolescence

In the night of his life

The film In the night of his life, a film adaptation of the homonymous novel by Larry Doyle, scripted by himself and directed by Chris Columbus, has not succeeded either in the USA or in Spain.

En In the night of his life we find the typical American high school comedy where the ugly nerd in the class (Paul Rust) has a crush on the head cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) and the most popular girl in the high school. He has never spoken to her despite always sitting behind her all the courses of the Institute but, nevertheless, at the graduation ceremony, following the advice of his best friend, he decides to use his final speech to declare his love for her. . From this moment on, she will live the craziest night of her entire life at the Institute, sharing adventures with her best friend, the head cheerleader and two of her friends.

Although the story is very topical, yes, there is a lack of nudes, I can say that the film has an acceptable level and the film shows the fear of youth that ends a stage of their life to start a very different one by going to University or beginning to work, that is, the passage from adolescence to maturity. And also, as the most famous boys of the Institute in adulthood they are nothing more than vulgar workers (waiters, professional soldiers, street sweepers) while the students who went unnoticed become doctors, lawyers or teachers.

The film does not have great gags but it does not get boring either, yes, those who have read the book comment that it is much better.

In short, Cinema Activity Score: 6
