This weekend the most expensive Spanish animated film in the history of Spanish cinema opens with a budget close to 50 million euros.
La Planet 51 movie It has already been sold to almost all the world, and even, it has already been released in the USA with an acceptable box office of 12 million dollars in its first week in Yankee cinemas.
Logically, to achieve a product with options to be sold to everyone, it seems more like an American film than a Spanish one, but this is nothing more than a necessary insignificance for the producers to put in the money and, then, to sell itself, as I have said, easily to the rest of the world.
What is clear is that the film has been made 100% in Spain and most of the designers are also national products.
The film is very well made and has nothing to envy to factories such as Disney or Pixar, however, despite having Sherk's screenwriter, the story is too simple but, at no time, does it become a mediocre film . Children will love it, although it will not have the magic of movies like Up, Ice Age or Shrek, which both children and their parents liked.
This weekend, I recommend you take your children to the movies to see it because they will be delighted with this story where the aliens are humans.
