Clearly Woody Allen he is a master at creating good stories, like the one he shows in his latest film titled "If the thing works", where the actor Larry David plays an alter ego of Woody Allen himself but much more hyperbolized in all his neuroses.
The film If it works, shows us that although life does not offer you everything you dreamed of, but if it works, bet on it and let yourself go. So does the main character of this film, a genius of quantum physics, who was nominated for the Nobel, divorced and so jaded with life that he tried to commit suicide without success. However, one day a young village girl appears in his life whom he will welcome into his house and "if things work out" until another day his mother from the village arrives desperate looking for her but hides that she has been abandoned by her husband.
Later, the young woman's father will also arrive at the home of the "genius" to finish bringing the family together, but in the most unexpected way that any spectator can imagine.
The only thing that can be criticized, apart from the dubbing "village" by the young actress Evan Rachel Wood, is the ending happy end but "if it works."
