Conan, one of the most anticipated films by fans of epic fantasy cinema, will be directed by filmmaker Marcus Nispel, according to information that emerges from the CHUD site, and that Variety collect for these weeks.
Producer Millennium / Nu Image was evaluating the candidates, among whom were, in addition to Nispel, Christophe Gans (Silent Hill) and Neil Marshall (The Descent). Finally, the executives decided on Nispel, which already has the remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th.
Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain are rewriting the script that the duo formed by Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer had previously performed. The production of Conan has had its difficult moments, with multiple delays, comings and goings, and manifest differences between the production company and the creative team led by Brett Ratner.
Little and nothing is known about the story arc. It has only transpired that this version of Conan will be much darker and more gloomy than the one acted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and will try to be faithful to the original novels written by Robert E. Howard.
Filming will start in Bulgaria next year, while the actor search that they impersonate Conan, continues and nothing is known about it.
