A few days ago the 3rd Mercosur Scientific Film Festival, based in the National Library of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It is organized and sponsored by the city governmentas well as by the National University Institute of Art (IUNA) and by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA).
The festival seeks to reward and publicize the different audiovisual projects, both cinematographic and television that are produced in the countries that make up Mercosur, of various themes, always related to Scientific Research, experimentation with materials typical of the discipline, etc. .
There were prominent figures who participated as Juries of the festival, among which are Tristan Bauer, renowned Argentine film director, who currently directs the channel END OF THE YEAR; Sergio Brandao, renowned Brazilian journalist; gabriel william, film director from Uruguay; Hugo Alberto Gamarra EtcheverryParaguayan director, producer, screenwriter and photographer; and Ignacio Aliaga Riquelme, Chilean artistic director.
At the same time, there was a talk about the original version of “Metropolis”, By Fritz Lang found in the festival's host country. Fernando Peña, renowned film critic, writer, and host, gave a talk about the film found, which contains scenes that have not been seen in the official versions.
