Christopher McQuarrie negotiates now for the sixth of 'Mission Impossible'

Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie

The franchise 'Mission Impossible' is on its way to becoming another 'Bond', that is, an endless saga. For the moment already the sixth installment is prepared.

At the moment 'Mission Impossible' has always had the same actor as the protagonist, up to five times Tom Cruise has been Ethan Hunt, but up to five different directors have been behind the cameras. Brian De Palma, John Woo, JJ Abrams, Brad Bird and Christopher McQuarrie have been, in this order, the filmmakers of the five installments of the saga so far.

But this director-by-film streak can be broken with the next installment of the franchise and that is Christopher McQuarrie, director of 'Mission Impossible: Secret Nation' ('Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation'), a tape that came to us this year and that meant the fifth installment of the adventures of Ethan Hunt and his team, is already negotiating to take over the next tape.

The spy franchise has great results at the box office and while this happens they will continue as happens with all sagas of this type. We'll see if she finally becomes the new 'Bond' and they even have to change actor at some point. And it is that this type of sagas survive the abandonment of its protagonists as we have seen not only in 'Bond' but also in others such as 'Bourne'.
