Cairo Film Festival begins

Last night, the XXXI Cairo International Film Festival (FICC) at the Cairo Opera, which began with the British film Death at a funeral.

This year, at the Festival that will last until next December 7, more than 160 films from 55 countries will compete for 12 awards, including the Pyramid of gold for the best movie and the Silver Pyramid as a special jury prize.

Among the Spanish films to be screened are The moon in a bottle, directed by Grojo and competing in the official section, and others like Thieves, by Jaime Marqués, and Dog head, by Santiago Amodeo, which will be exhibited in the section that is named Festival of Festivals.
