For a couple of months it has been known that the American group foo Fighters is working with the legendary producer Butch Vig (member of the band Garbage) for the production of his next album. In mid-February rumors spread about the Foo Fighters' new work, indicating that the group was conducting multiple recording sessions at a dozen different studios.

This week his own Butch vig revealed more information about the recording process of the new album for the American press: “We are recording the songs in various studios. Work is progressing smoothly and we are halfway there now. The whole project has a completely different sound from the other Foo Fighters works. Actually, this was our original premise: adding new elements capable of offering a totally original and innovative sound. This production is proving to be a very exciting challenge ".

Butch Vig, known for having made memorable productions like 'Nevermind' by Nirvana or 'Gish' by the Smashing Pumpkins also added: “I hope to finish (production) by the end of June. Definitely this time we have approached production quite differently. I've never made an album like this and I don't know if anyone has done anything like this before. We've put a lot of 'X factor' into it, forcing ourselves to sound more spontaneous than ever and take the sound to its highest level ".
