"Burn", the new from The Stooges

Iggy Pop and its The Stooges They present their new theme, called «Burn Energy Drink«, Which will be included in his next album 'Ready to die', to be released on April 30 via Fat Possum Records. It will be the work that follows 'The Weirdness' of 2007, which was the first since they released 'Raw Power' in 1973.

This new version of the group includes Iggy Pop James Williamson on guitar, Scott Asheton on drums and Mike Watt on bass, who replaced Ron Asheton, who died in 2009. The Stooges is a rock band that emerged in 1967 in Detroit (United States) considered a pioneer of garage rock and a forerunner of both music and the punk subculture. Their first album, whose name is the same as the band's, came out in 1969, garnering very few sales and bad reviews.

The second album, 'Fun House', was released in 1970 and considered by many to be The Stooges' best album, it also failed to achieve a noticeably better reception. Not having a record company, the band was left for a time without anyone to get them performances or the necessary money to continue with the production of new albums, so there was a musical break for a time.

But Iggy Pop met David Bowie in September 1971, the two quickly becoming good friends. In this way, Bowie helped Pop rebuild the band and then convinced his record company, Columbia Records, to sign them. His third album, 'Raw Power', came out soon, in 1973, and although it is considered one of the cornerstones of punk rock, it had the same little success as its two predecessors.

Almost thirty years after their separation, The Stooges They met in 2003 and went on a world tour, releasing the album 'Skull Ring' in 2003 and the aforementioned 'The Weirdness' in 2007.
