Indeed. Billy Corgan has come out to say that the band will not release new albums in the future. In the middle of his statements in this regard, he admitted that this decision was made in part due to the poor reception that the Zeitgeist, the last album of the recently refurbished Smashing Pumpkins.
"We are over the Zeitgeist ... there is nothing to discuss ... people do not even listen to all the songs: They upload it to their iPod, play the two most commercial singles and then skip the rest of the songs"I affirm.
Still, he said that his followers will be able to continue listening to the group's new music via singles:
"Right now, our first goal is to become a singles band… we will continue to be creative but in a different way.".
