A new edition of the Mar del Plata Film Festival (Argentina) and in this 27th edition the winning film was the Romanian-French-Belgian co-production «beyond the hills«, By the director Cristian Mungiu, who took the Golden Astor to the best film of the International Competition of the contest (here we see the trailer).
Meanwhile, Turkish Reiz Celik won the Silver Astor for directing for "Night of silence" and protagonist Ílyas Salman won the Silver Astor for male performance, along with Argentine Pablo Pinto, for his work in "From Tuesday to Tuesday" by Gustavo Triviño. Soko received the Silver Astor for her leading female role in Alice Winocou's "Augustine."
This 27th edition of Mar del Plata International Festival it surpassed the number of viewers of last year, with more than 300 titles shown and a good range of sections for all tastes.
