The filmmaker awarded two Academy Awards for "The Last Emperor," one for Best Director and the other for Best Adapted Screenplay, Bernardo Bertolucci, will be honored at this year's European Film Award gala, conferring the honorary award.
This award coincides with the return to the direction of the filmmaker after 10 years away from the world of cinema due to health problems with the premiere in the Venice Film Festival from the tape "You and me."
The awarding of this award also coincides with the year in which the 50th anniversary of the premiere of his debut in the feature film as director «La commare secca».
The great love that Bertolucci feels for the cinema, which he shows when he goes back behind the cameras despite his delicate health that keeps him bedridden in a wheelchair, added to his long career, half a century dedicated to the direction in which he has shot a little more than 20 tapes but of great quality all of them, they have made him remember this year in the European Film Awards.
