Barbet Schroeder's 'Amnesia'

Barbet Schroeder will present his new film 'Amnesia' at the 68th edition of the Cannes film festival.

The film will be shown in a special screening out of competition, so this time the Swiss director will not compete for the Palme d'Or.

Amnesia

And it is that almost three decades ago Barbet Schroeder was present in the official competition section of the French contest. His film 'Barfly 'was competing for the Palme d'Or in the 1987 edition.

The director of well-known films from the 90s such as 'Reversal of Fortune', known in Spain as 'The mystery of Von Bülow' or 'Single White Female' ('Single white woman seeks ...') has had a most irregular career, and many had lost track of him in recent years.

The story of 'Amnesia'takes place in Ibiza during the 90s and revolves around a young composer named Jo attracted by the emergence of electronic music and Martha, a woman who lives alone in a house where she hides various secrets, such as a cello that hides.

Veteran Bruno Ganz, recently seen in the great 'Kraftidioten' ('In Order of Disappearance'), the also veteran Martha Keller, which we have seen in great classics like 'Marathon Man' or 'Fedora' and Max riemelt, recently seen in 'Freier Fall ', star in' Amnesia '.
