Babel, four stories in one

Babel

Babel is that type of film that leaves no one indifferent. OR you idolize or hate them, and in my case I am more in favor of the latter.

Alejandro González Iñárritu's film spans three different continents (America, Asia and Africa) showing 4 different stories that were predictably going to end interconnected: two young Arab shepherds who shoot a bus as a game and kill an American woman, the odyssey of the American herself and her husband in their attempt to save her life, the nanny of the American couple who decide to take the children of the marriage to Mexico to attend the wedding of a relative and are involved in a series of problems with the police and a quite rebellious Japanese deaf-mute teenager. The relationship between the first three stories is obvious and anyone notices within 5 minutes of starting the movie. To know how the last one is related, it is necessary to reach the end and it all comes down to the fact that the rifle used by the two children was a gift from the father of the young Japanese woman during a hunt in Africa.

Total, more than two hours of film to show us four stories semi-apocalyptic in which its protagonists are directed to a series of misfortunes without being able to do anything to avoid it.

On the bright side: Brad Pitt plays a pretty good role, and Hollywood stars (Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt himself) blend in quite naturally in the cast. actores semi-professionals.

I said, a movie that you will love or hate deeply.
