Today, Friday, the long-awaited latest film by director Baz Luhrmann arrives in our theaters, Australia, an epic and romantic film with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman as the main couple.
However, this super production of more than 130 million dollars of production, has only raised in the USA 41 million dollars in four weeks in theaters with what we can say that it will be one of the economic fiascos of the year.
AustraliaIt is the latest failure at the American box office for Nicole Kidman so the actress is thinking of taking a break and waiting for better times.
AustraliaIt will surely be much better received by the European public and will partly recoup the costly expense of its production.
The synopsis of the film is as follows:
Set in North Australia during World War II, it centers on an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a ranch the size of Meryland, owned by her late husband (Ben Mendelsohn). When the great English ranchers hatch a plan to seize her land, she reluctantly teams up with a rugged cattle driver (Hugh Jackman) to drive 2000 head across hundreds of miles of the most unforgiving land in the country, only to encounter the Japanese bombing of Darwin, Australia.
