One of the films that I remember most fondly from my childhood is the classic «The gremlins«. And apparently, and with happy hope I say it, a sequel to this funny film is also coming to us.
It happens that the executives of the Warner are betting on the realization of several sequels of the series that made history in the 80s. And with the creation of Warner premiere, a production company that will only deal with direct films to DVD, the executives decided to create the sequels of Goonies, New Jack City, Scooby Doo, and Gremlins. The problem is that, since the films will be released directly to "home" format, it is very likely that they will be very low budget, and directed by newcomers who have little experience.
This is the same mechanism used in junk films like American Pie, and Bring it on. So, although I want to put a good face on the matter, little illusion generates me to see the wet bugs again, which are most likely recycled from the old studios. We will have to wait and see what happens ...
