Anna Torroja, the one who was the vocalist of the group MecanoIs accused in a tax fraud case. The judge handling the case has ruled that she must contribute 1,8 million euros if she does not want to be sent to prison.
The scandal of this alleged crime was brought to light by the investigation "Operation lightning", where I know a series of scams, money laundering and fraud to public finances by a law firm, where the singer's personal lawyer works.
The artist has defended herself from the accusation of debt of more than 700 thousand euros - understood between the years 1996 and 1997 - alleging that his residence was in the United Kingdom and that he did not have the responsibility to declare in Spain. However, the judge affirms that there is sufficient evidence to show that Ana Torroja resided in Spain and not in the British country.
