Without a doubt, Al Pacino is one of the few actors in the world who is qualified to play any role: now, it was known that he will be the protagonist of «Masterpiece" ('Masterpiece'). There he will play Henri Matisse, the French painter.
The film will be a biopic and it will focus on the most personal aspects of Matisse's life and how these influenced his work. Among the essential points, emphasis will be placed on the relationship with his nurse Monique Bourgeois, who took care of him when he was ill and later became a muse and model.
The director will be the Canadian Deepa Mehta and the idea is to start shooting this year, when the casting of female leads closes.
